I needed replacement bulbs for my Spectrum 14 recently, and someone suggested I contact PSC Lamps. I did, and they were extremely helpful. They've changed their name to "Bulb Direct", and have a web site that may be of some use in finding what you need (www.bulbdirect.com). Regarding the Spectrum 14, I am told that the correct bulb to use is the BRL, and with that code the Bulb Direct person was able to tell me some additional info, including... product code - BRL 12V, 50W 3400 degK color temp rated for 50 hours G6.35 base (defines the shape of the pins) Bulbs to fit this spec are available from multiple manufacturers (GE, Philips, Osram, Ushio, maybe others). Has anybody taken the time to test these to know which is best? How close is the 50hr rating to reality? They sold Philips at $5.55 each + $4.75 shipping. There's a price break for 12 or more, at $5.00 each. - Todd -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
