Mooooo. Here in the recreational herd, I've not noticed (in my club, anyway), any anti-tek sentiment. In fact, one of us who recently became NITROX-certified (thus joining the exalted ranks of youse guys, I guess) made such a good case for Nitrox (reinforcing my own growing opinion of it as generally A Good Thing) that I now plan to take the plunge, and the course, as soon as my very strained finances allow. I don't recall any of those who heard our conversation whipping out garlic, crosses, etc. Those who may not *choose* to push their participation in this *sport* as far as some others are not necessarily: 1) Small-minded. 2) Dull-witted. 3) Timid. 4) Prejudiced. or even, gasp... 5) Bad divers. I'm a pretty good recreational-depth air diver. I intend, thru dint of as much practice as I can squeeze into my life, to be a much better diver by the end of this season, as old skills return at last. Then, Nitrox. Then...not planning anything, but who knows? I'll not lose any respect for those who stay where they are content. Gee, this sounds like I'm mad, and I can't edit text on this system. I'm not mad, just venting a bit. It's HOT!!!!!! in Mass. :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> :> Is that enough smileys? Pls don't flame me, as I'm not.
