The best source I have found for this kind of stuff is REI - they
cater to that crowd and sell polypropylene EVERYTHING (socks, shirts,
sweats, etc). They have about a half dozen retail outlets across teh
US (including two in Atlanta), but also do mail order.

Home Depot stores are also good sources for this kind of stuff. They
sell grommet kits, bolt snaps, and have a pretty good selection of
other "sepcialty" hardware that you don't find in most other stores
(stainless steel nuts, bolts, washers, etc).
