> Has anyone tried CO2 gas to fill a suit? This seems to be a much >more economical solution to keeping warm... CO2 + Water (sweat) = Carbonic Acid. Not what I want on my skin. Heard a story about another GL diver who saved a few bucks and filled his argon bottle with 75%Ar/25%CO2, another welding mix. He came up out of the water swearing that this gas was much better than the Ar he'd used the week before. Dang shop musta ripped him off and sold him air. He could feel the heat when he hit the inflator now, really burned going into the suit. When he peeled the suit off later, his chest was nicely reddened from the acid (acid burn) Tim Taylor taylor@ru*.ne* Whitefish Point Underwater Preserve web page http://www.rust.net/~taylor/mupc/wfish/wfish.htm 1997 FSUPC Photo Contest Rules, entry form, previous winners 1997 Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival information http://www.rust.net/~taylor -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
