Stefano Bincoletto asked: >Ok guys, another bother question about freezing regs.... We have done a pretty exhaustive search for the best cold water regulator and found the Sherwood Maximus to be, by far, the best performer. The Poseidon Cyclon 300 comes in somewhat close at second place and all other tested regs are WAY off the pace. Test results were published in the AAUS proceedings several years ago. If there was an interest, I'd be happy to post the bottom line numbers here. We have been using the Maximus regs almost exclusively for the past three years and have had zero failures in that time. This is after nearly two thousand dives made by approximately 30 different people who have various operational habits. Of course the key is to keep the regulator BONE dry prior to getting into the H2O. Water temps here range from -1.9C to -1.2C. You won't find colder water anywhere else. I couldn't be more pleased with the regulator's performance. Be happy to answer any specific questions.
