Ike is definitely one of the good guys.

I have one of his original Modular lights.  The sucker is almost old enough
to drink (it is old enough to vote and get drafted).  It dates from BEFORE
he put coin slots in the lens to make it easier to disassemble.

I tried to take it apart to replace the batteries and clean the expected
leakage.  It had been sealed up for ten years or so.  I had to ask him for
suggestions.  He suggested the coin slots.  I reported that this one didn't
have any.  He was surprised, suggested a kitchen knife (which worked), and
offered to send me a replacement lens and O-ring, free.  Turns out he
didn't have any more lenses for it, it is so old, but he did ship me the
O-ring.

Oh, and one other thing:  the Radio Shack green alkaline "D" cells had NOT
leaked.  Even though they had been in there for ten years or so, according
to the date codes on them.
