You don't actually memorize waypoints, you
LEARN an area before progressing further
into the wreck. The point here being that you
aren't making a big push to penetrate as much
of the wreck as you can in one dive, but you
work a wreck slowly over many dives. This is
essential, _I feel_, if you want to be able to find
decent artifacts and obscure areas of the wrecks
you are working.

I don't know how I would apply lines to caving,
my experience does not lie there, but I would
feel pretty vulnerable with just a line to find my
way home. Then again, cave diving doesn't
appeal to me so I don't care.

Mark, I'm seriously interested in how you
do this sort of stuff. Like what kind of
waypoints you use to memorise the way back,
how you keep the way back clear, and what
equivalent narcotic depth you dive. Also, how
many moves can you memorise in one sequence?
Like how many levels can you get into a big
wreck and still gwt back out from memory?
Do all of you Atlantic wreckers do it this way?
How about dyslexics who have truoble
sequencing? How do you ID them so you can
keep 'em off the boats? And the cavers, you'd
think they'd be a bit quicker on the uptake
wouldn't you?

Looking forward to learning from your reply
