Yes, of course. But George seems to think it is not a good thing to do (leaving
it partially shut). I'd like to know the reason, though.

It can't really be confusion over which way to turn it, cause if you 'do it
right' you practice this regularly and should have it down cold. The possibility
to shut down the manifold in a couple of seconds sounded real good - reach back,
minimal turn.  Is this a stroke question, or what?
