Chuck , it is the little things taht kill - see Bob Friendman's post on
accidents - he says it is always a suprise to the guy who gets ot.
Soft metal is best, like machineable brass. Tripple disk is good, 1/16" disks
are good, and soldering the plug wtih a butane torch is how to keep from
getting
a cold hole, then use a disk and file the outer side of the plug so it will not
cut the disk.
I mostly use the 1/16 disks, and have them made, or you can make them with a
shim punch and a sheet of copper. This is extremely expensive, maybe 10 bucks
for the tool and another two or three for the copper. See my favorite
cataglogue, Small Parts Inc in Miami.
If you guys listen to me you could have a full set of the finest dive gear
rigged perfectly and a real scooter for less thn you have in gear right now
that
is worthless. Trust me on that one, I can prove it.
Just remember that some fat , dumb red neck is riding YOUR scooter right
now, wearing your proper drysuit, and going to Cozumel with the rest of the
proceeds.
