Individually Sheck and a few others had done gas dives in caves. Yes WKPP has extended this intial pioneereing effort a great deal just as have others in other systems worldwide. WKPP is not the only group who do exciting dives. There is good stuff being done in Brazil, France, South Africa, Mexico, The Blue holes, Turkey, and other countries >> Let's not start trying to re-write history. The Sullivan Sink Connection team headed by Parker Turner was the first team to do mixed gas cave diving and consulted with Dr. Bill Hamilton regarding it. If you get a copy of the film I showed at the NACD workshop this weekend you will be presented with a factual account of the WKPP's progression, which includes utilizing mixed gas in caves for the first time. - Rick P.S.
