George you attack everyone and accuse them of being salespeople. In fact many of the people you hit on are educators and you are the salesman. You have a product the WKPP configuration, and you try and sell it. It is one of many good products on the market, not the only one out there. Your profession comes through in your approach you use whatever method you can to SELL it. Even bullying belittling and whatever you think will puh other viewpoints away. This is why the net loses its poetential to be a effective avenue for broad based information exchange. A instructor does all he can to educate, by making one aware of all the safe methods of doing something and how to evaluate each item be it equipment config or technique. It is quite likely they will elect for what you sell, but it would be because an educator makes them aware not because it is ran down there throat or because it is stated as the only way. They would also be aware of how to adjust it for specific environments/applications. , I do not remember advocating a bit of strokery , although I have made folks aware of other alternatives and suggested they use their own brain and intellect to make decisions with. A thinking diver remains the key component to dive safety. I do not advocate a diver copy either of us, rather they should look and compare all of the various safe systems available and then conclude for themselves what parts of a variety of applications or what if it is applicable one system is best for the type diving they do. As stated in our video, which shows several configs including WKPP version of hogarth by JJ helps the viewer make an informed decision "Avoid strict adherence to GURUS who claim only one setup works , but listen to each one of their messages The information each has is of benefit, it has been developed through practical experience Then evaluate the strong points from each system and select the best segments Be an individual, -it is your safety , your life, your comfort Be prudent, be responsible, be open minded and: TAKE THE TIME TO DO IT RIGHT Just remember only you can breath for you, only you can think for you and only you can swim for you As can be seen I do and always will support personal freedom and the role of education in preparing folks to be able to make an informed decision. George WKPP started gas diving around 1990, As you know the first gas cave dives were Wakulla 87 on Bill Stones project and then Eagles nest on a project headed up by Jim king , this was the first actual projects that pioneered the use of gas in caves. Individually Sheck and a few others had done gas dives in caves. Yes WKPP has extended this intial pioneereing effort a great deal just as have others in other systems worldwide. WKPP is not the only group who do exciting dives. There is good stuff being done in Brazil, France, South Africa, Mexico, The Blue holes, Turkey, and other countries I do not rember seeing you make a gas dive until after you were cave certified in 1991. In fact, the first time I'm aware, and anyone else in Florida is aware of you doing gas dives was in 1992. Trimix got on and seemed to think Dan knafe had taught you gas diving if so that was definitely after IANTD had started its certification in Gas 1991 the same year you got cave certified in.I did not think Dan was your instructor. I think you are pretty much self taught. I'm out of town for the next two weeks so guess I'll miss out on your noble response to this post. It would be so nioce if we could discuss instead of slam each other but my neck just got to sore from turning the other cheek only to take another of your barrages. Tom mount
