I've found that on my Ikelite system (Cannon F1, old style), the
film advance, aperture & focusing knobs on the housing work fine well-past
60m- the big problem is the shutter release knob gets out of alignment
with the button on the camera due to distortion of the housing (as you
mentioned). I've solved this with a 5/8" diameter disk which screws into
the cable-release threads on the camera shutter-release button. The large
disk allows the Ikelite knob to take a picture at almost any depth. Of
course, if you have an automatic camera, this suggestion probably won't help.

Ialso have a problem with the focusing knob on my 100mm lens port at depths
below about 55m, which I haven't yet been able to solve.

As for pressurizing the housing, I think it would be cheaper to buy an
aluminum housing....maybe not(?)

Aloha,

Rich
