I wouldn't call 185ft excessive but then again it's all relative. All over
the world divers are permitted to go to depths in excess of what they are
experienced/trained or ready for. O/W divers regularly return from the
Solomons, Vanuatu, etc,etc with stories of their deep dives on single tanks
that they would never dream of attempting back home. It's amazing what clear
warm water can do for ones confidence.
