has anyone heard of charts from the navy called non sub contact charts... have been told that they were recently declassified charts that when a sub on a training run in and out of the islands would pick up a signature from something underwater they would then check it out.. when they found either a wreck or dump or whatever they would chart it on these charts for the future... also while back in a cave yesterday off Oahu we found some interesting coral, this was about 125 feet back in a corridor that ends up in an open room above the sea level, the "tube" starts at 50fsw and runs back level for 50 feet then goes up at an angle for 75 feet to the small room, a diver can easily stand up and take off his mask with plenty of room to the ceiling. the question is what sort of coral lives in total darkness::: it looked tanish white and had ripples sorta like brain coral.. could this be a coral at all without sunlite, or something else. there was lots of it on the walls about twenty feet from the surface of the water in the room... *total* darkness.. thanks for your help.. aloha, dennis
