There are two makes that I normally use: Xenon and Seaman Sub.
Not because of any particular recommendation. They just
happen to be readily available locally. I think they are
both rated to 100m (330ft) and cost around UK#20 (US$30).

The Seaman is very popular here. It is a simple strobe with
a twist on/off switch at the bottom. Most people strap one
to their BC facing backwards to make them easier to locate
in low viz or night dives. Up here they seem to be more
popular than glow sticks.

The Xenon is a strobe/torch with a magnetic switch to select
one or the other. Torch at one end and strobe at the other.
I haven't seen many of these but I have two and have had no
problems.

Alan

PS Warning to people new to penetration: don't use a strobe
in place of a line. I have had two bulbs fail. Don't rely
on them, use them as additional aids.
