I've written in the past about OMS. I was also unhappy about the sharp
edges where the webbing make contact, and had been cut. In addition, I'd
had problems with rusting of two of the rings in the harness. I was
unsuccessful in getting OMS to deal with the issue, but their dealer
handled it for them. Ultimately, I got a different harness, which has
not rusted the way the first did, and I ground the edges of the plate
myself. No rust.

I don't know about drilling holes, I never did it. Someone who posts to
this list a lot thinks that drilling will cause rust, and made some
comment about how the problems I had must due to the fact that I'm a
silly whining goose, or something, but I have no experience with this
issue.

I'd go ahead and fix the edges, it worked for me, my webbing is not
getting cut anymore, and I've not had any resulting rust.
