Ray, There's actually a home page on the web for DHEA. It's not sold without a prescription in the US, but is often taken in the form of a mexican yam extract. Usually this product is not standardized as to DHEA content/purity. While it is true that the serum levels of DHEA, a hormone precursor, fall with age, no definitive benefit has been proven for supplementing your diet with DHEA. It has been used as a supplement for people with wasting due to cancer or AIDS and its use in this situation is anecdotally beneficial. It has no specific anti-oxidant properties to my knowledge. -ph On Wed, 25 Sep 1996 RLatulip@ao*.co* wrote: > DHEA is a precursor hormon produced by the human body, the normal range of a > 25 year old is around 30mg.
