Regarding the magnetic reed switch, make sure that the switch is rated for the current it will be handling. I designed an underwater light for US Divers years ago and soon found out that if the switch is not rated for the current, it will latch - you cannot turn off the light without disconnecting the battery. Also, a mercury wetted magnetic reed switch will help prevent latching. Good luck on you endeavor, but I also suggest you price the project up front and compare the cost of purchasing an off the shelf light. PVC pipe will have the strength to resist pressure, it's the seals I would worry about. And there are other issues like recharging batteries, venting etc.. Mike Borrello mborrello@ao*.co*
