Back in the 70's, James Middleton at the NEDU published a report comparing 20 or 30 sport diving regulators with regards to the imposed work of breathing at various depths down to 300 fsw. The tests were performed in a hyperbaric chamber using a breathing machine. A few years after that time, I conducted similar testing in the US Diver's hyperbaric chamber, but the results, being company confidential, were never published. Does anybody happen to know if a more current, published authoritative study comparable to this has been repeated and where I might be able to obtain a copy ?
