Normally it wouldn't, but it's got some coral fragments embedded in it.  I
think that if I take it down enough to get the coral out I might need to
flame polish it.

Actually, I'm thinking of just trying it without flame polishing (I used the
Crest and Elbow grease method earlier, thanks Rick).  I can still see some
white patterns, but these may just be scratches that will fill with water.

From what Marv says, it sounds like I ought to at least try it underwater
before I go to extreemes.

It turns out that I'm seeing my endodontist tomorrow afternoon, I'll ask
about acrylic polishing compounds (thanks Jeff).  He's also an underwater
photog. so I'm sure he'll oblige.

Richard, thanks for the tip on the hydrogen.  I would have used butane.

Anyway, thanks to all for your help.  Hard to believe how much knowledge
and expertise there is on this list sometimes ;)
