Scott, 
 If you realy want to try flame polishing your dome port
the proper way you must use a hydrogen,oxygen torch, first lightly sand 
area with 600 grit sandpaper then rub area down with varsol,light torch
and adjust flame until it's barely visable then pass flame over 
scratched area, practice on some old plexiglass to get your burn time 
correct-RD
