That's why you need a method to be able to verify, within the amount of
confidence you have in laws of physics and how you mixed your diluent,
that the sensors are giving you accurate readings. AND, you need the
discipline to do this verification several times an hour.

You are probably right. That's why I continue to emphasize how much time
it takes to get good at these things (= stay alive on these things). I
also need to emphasize that the onus of training is NOT on the shoulders
of the agencies. The best the agencies can do is show you how the thing
is built, and tell you what you need to know to stay alive. To actually
stay alive requires a level of discipline that is *ENTIRELY* the
responsibility of the diver.

Now, George, you have to admit that there are a few folks out there who
actually have a use for these things. Will you please let us share our
experiences with each other in peace, without having to listen to you howl
everytime about how good you are at what you do, and how none of us peons
could do shit in a cave? Most of us peons don't care about caves. I
don't think you realize that everytime you crticize our legitimate use of
these machines, it sounds *EXACTLY* the same way to us as it does to you
when all the "weenies and strokes" criticize WKPP. You need to understand
that we are the ones in the non-military, non-commercial world who have
the analogy of the "end of the line" for rebreather diving. Yes, the
military guys make us look like real weenies, but on the other hand, the
military guys don't dive in the conditions we do, for the reasons we do.
People like Farb and McKenney and Hall and Cranston and maybe even me are
inventing this shit as we go along. We have to - because either the
military/Commercial guys won't tell us, or because they don't know the
answers because they operate under entirely different circumstances and
conditions with entirely different logistical support.

In other words, stop being such a boob.

Rich
