Subject: wings questions
On Dive-Rite Original Wings, is the gasket that forms the seal between
the bladder and the hose assembly supposed to be replaced whenever it's
disassembled? On the wings I bought recently, this seal is leaking like
a sieve. I'm trying to determine whether I caused the problem myself by
taking it apart the day it arrived, and whether solving the problem is
just a matter of putting in a new gasket.

For the detail-oriented: There's a circular "ridge" that runs around
the face of each surface that mates against the gasket. These ridges
have left an imprint on each side of the gasket, so I think I'm getting
a bad seal because I'm unable to line up the imprints *exactly* with
the ridges. The diameter of the circle on the bladder side is about
27mm, and on the hose side it's about 33mm, so I wondered if I might
be able to just flip the gasket over and get a fresh surface -- that
seemed to make the seal even worse, however.

The "Doing It Right" video shows an inner-tube used to protect the
bladder. Should the inner-tube be used instead of the thin nylon
cover (the one with the velcro) inside the wings, or over it? Also,
do you use a "hole" or a "notch" in the inner-tube to make room for
the hose assembly? In other words, do you have to detach the hose
when you install the inner-tube? (tough to explain w/o a picture)
