Dude, You need to allow yourself to express your inner thoughts. Don't edit yourself, remember, your inner child needs a nurturing environment too. You are a good person, and deserve empowerment as a individual, o.k? On another note: Interesting post - Your arguments make sense, but since I didn't inherit any of the Electrical Engineering Genes from my dad ("Red wire goes on the negative side, right dad???") I can't comment on the relative stupidity of the design you described. I can tell you, however, that there ARE some electrical components in the counterlung section of the BioMarine unit - they are resistors that work in tandem with the O2 sensors to send data to the Primary Electronics Pod, and the Secondary Display. They are "potted" in a horseshoe shape groove in the center section, just above the counterlung. This leads me to assume that ALL electronics in the breathing loop are not all bad, and since (to my knowledge) there isn't any voltage applied to these resistors beyond that emitted by the O2 sensors themselves, it shouldn't pose a problem. Having Nicad batteries in the loop sounds kinda like asking for trouble, though... I'm interested as to why they decided to go with semi-conductors in their system. The Mark 15.5 that I have has very simple electronics (at least from what I can see as a electronic idiot). The way I gauge this is if I can replace a component on a P.C. board, then it must be pretty simple. Anyway, thanks for the warning, I'll cancel my order for 100 of those babies tomorrow... Kevin.
