Guy, I would agree with you if the question the original poster had submitted actually involved anything you list in your first definition of technical diving. It didn't. The original message said: "I'm planning a dive on fresh water... I'd like to know everything that I need to do a dive like this one... Thank you..." Does this sound to you like someone who has enough of a clue to be doing any one of your tech diving criteria? I'm new to this arena myself. By most of this list's subscribers, I'd be considered a newbie. I've only done a couple a'hundred dives, and the deepest was only 146'. But even I don't ask questions like that.
