Subject: Re: back-up reg neck strap
Serious tech divers have a second regulator surgically implanted into
their right cheek. The implant to ask for at the doctors is RTREGZIP. The
ZIP refers to the method of attachment for the regulator. The regulator is
attached via a zipper that allows removal of the alternate gas supply
during the off-season or when you have to go to the prom. In the
wintertime, opening the zipper provides an alternate means of air
inhalation so you don't have to use your nose or lips- a source of severe
chapping in low humidity conditions. Why screw around with a rubber strap
around your neck that could be used by someone to strangle you on a dive?
