  Shock cord works. I like everything to be hidden to the eye, so I use all 
black, in keeping with the concept that atention to detail leaves out no 
details. Burn the ends.

   The only possible problem with shock cord is that it maxes out to a stretch 
limit, whereas the tubing has a huge range. The cord will therefor reach an 
inelastic point quickly. I stepped on mine sneak diving one night, which would 
have damaged the reg if it had been cord. Also, if you got it caught on a wreck 
in a current, you would want the stretch to work with.
