Todd, it is "permanently" attached, and can obviously be breathed that way. The reason we do not use the "loops" is that the reg may fall out and not be where it need to be when it needs to be there, and when it needs to be there, it needs to be there. There is no subsitute for extreme experience, clear thinking that sees all the way through the possibilities, and superior intelligence, other than asking me, and you have demonstrated the later by doing just that.
