The reg isn't bad, but not good enough when you needs lots of gas in a big way. CO2 buildup and general 'I can't get enough gas' feelings made me switch to a higher performance reg. Others died in caves because of Sherwoods so I'm told due to the CO2 buildup in current deep. Cold water means Odin to me. George can beat as many Swedes over the head as he wants, but it doesn't freeze on the second stage's upstream demand ("till you do as I do where I do it, SMD") and no one argues with the first stage's performance. It is expensive to own and operate and getting it adjusted correctly can be difficult. Such is the pain of the best cold water reg. (in my book). VX10s and ScubaPros are the thing for the WKPP (warm water with the Odin 1st). You decide, it's you're life. Someone on the East Coast sells Odins cheap if you want to buy that way. They're on the list, just broadcast a request. Anyone else gonna rescue this guy? I use my Sherwood for deco as I'm sure as ___ not going to be demanding from it on a hang. It's good for that and general cold water recreational use if you won't ever have to fight a current or wind & waves... Never free flowed either, so don't trash it, just get the right equipment for the job. The tech's at the shop where I dive are fairly happy with it and they are not even Sherwood dealers. I plan to get more into the more technical end with some of this years dives planned to about 150+ fsw. Had any problems with freeflows or service or parts with Sherwood.
