 I think you might have made a bit of a glitch in this post.  To the best of
my knowlege, Sherwood has never made a diaphram first stage regulator.

 Perhaps I didn't have the "right" diaphragm first stages - 
>the ones that have failed on me include Oceanic (2 kinds), U.S. Divers, 
>and Sherwood.  The only diaphragm first stage that hasn't failed on me at
