They can be difficult to remove should one want to bail out. But they can also have their value for SCUBA assuming the diver knows how to use them. They are, however, only a portion of a larger diver support system. As such they must be considered in concert with the rest of the divers gear at the time of the dive. Obvioulsy the details of the dive conditions have a lot of influence on the selection of equipment. I don't think their is a rspecific recipe to follow in all cases. Steve
