Subject: Are full face masks dangerous

Some time ago I remember a discussion about full face masks such as the AGA,
at least one posting mentioned lost divers using these. 

Last Saturday I was chatting to diver chum, one of these lunatics who dives
to the bottom of Dorothea (98m), who is thinking of useing one of these,
needless to say he was keen to know more about any dangers involved.

Are there any documented cases of accidents, are there any full face masks
to be avoided and in general are they safe.
