Of course with a cmf system like the Fieno or the Drager the system is only
loosly tied to your metabolic rate.  Hence any variation in work rate is 
likely to result in changes in inspired FO2.  The fact that the flow rate
of the cmfv was not checked prior to the dive just adds insult to 
(possible) injury!  I was looking at the recent edition of Aquacorpse
and from the their description of the Fieno I would say that the 
flow rate is 6.5 l/m and the mix is 40%.  I don't have the actual numbers
in front of me.  The commonly used max metabolic rate is 3 liters/minute.  
I don't even need the counter lung equation to figure out that you can 
go hypoxic if you work hard enough!
