Hi, A few years ago when I took a first aid class in France, we were trained to use a very interresting system. It is a clear piece of plastic, flat, placed between the mask and the O2 hose from the reg. There is no moving parts and the path of the oxygen is a kind of maze that you can see through the plastic. This system inflates the patient's lungs automatically until the pressure fixed by design is reached and the flow of O2 is diverted by some kind of venturi effect, allowing the patient to expire... I don't remember the name of it but I found it to be quite ingenious and usefull. It wont save any gas but it is a must for a non breathing patient (if the lungs are not damaged). Have anybody seen this before ? Gil.
