If you look in the Poseidon Manual it does say to use Ethel Alcohol
in the Ice Cap.  If you have a Poseidon regulator all you have to do
is read the manual that came with the regulator.

Personally (as my last post stated) I choose to put Food Grade Silicon
oil in my freeze caps of my Poseidon regulators, just as I did for the
USD regulators I use to have.  Now I don't use the Freeze caps on my
Poseidon regulators.  Currently the only regulator I use a freeze cap
on is my Beauchat vx-10 Nitrox cleaned regulator.  This regulator I
use on my (EAN50 to 100% O2) stage bottle.  I use a Oceanic Omega
regulator for my (EAN28 to EAN40) stage bottle.

Please note:
Each regulator has a completely different shaped second stage this helps me
identify my gas in total darkness. Plus the tanks are labeled, and I wear 
a certain gas on my kit in the same location all the time.  BTW, the 
Poseidon Odins are my bottom gas regulators.
