>Well, thanks to the innovative technology in these expensive weight >belts, your buddy's BREATHING RATE has now effectively doubled. What >do you think the computer is going to do??? Yep, it's going to assume >your buddy is WORKING EXTREMELY HARD and rack up unwarranted deco on >that dive... What good is using the breathing rate in this scenario - >it's just plain dangerous because you have NO IDEA how much deco you >really have, only that it's LESS than calculated. What about a regulator free-flow? ...quite common in our waters. When you need to get out faster, the computer would hold you there and you would have no idea of what's really required... These computers also have a cold water feature that shuts off the unit when it's cold enough. Seriously, the unit will come in error mode because limits are exceeded easilly when diving in waters below 40F. That's fun... when you need a cold water feature, you must disable it because it prevents the unit from working! Carl, it could be worse than that, they could have made a unit that you program the time or depth of your mix changes, thus allowing for more than two mixes... So if you must change your plan because of any difficulty, you are really stuck! (just feel that they are thinking about that ;) Michel Therrien m.therrien@ne*.qc*.ca*
