Thanks Chris, One of the coolest thing about these Esclapez fins is the 5 stiffness levels. While even the stiffest is far softer than conventional jet fins, imagine how easy to kick the most flexible ones are, as they are designed for freedivers who will do 8 hours of continuous freediving, and don't want to cramp up. When I get my hands on the stiffest Esclapez fins, I'll let you know if they feel stiff to me. Cressi Rondines, while extremely efficient, feel like spagetti noodles, but I can freedive to 75 feet with them using the same exertion I'd use with Jet fins on a 40 foot freedive. And the Cressi fins are supposed to be stiffer and less capable of thrust than the softest Esclapez. The Esclapez rep I have talked with tells me that if I can do 75 feet with the Cressi Rondine Garas, I may do 95 or 100 feet deep with the new stiffest fin!!! Guys like Terry Maas and Pipin are already using these fins. Dan >Dan -- Good poop on the free diving fins. You're right about the silt >stirring problem in caves and wrecks.
