No one is arguing about the validity of your system or techniques
There are other safe ways and good ways of doing things and as I stated
regardless of how you and I feel everyone w
Tom, I do not think the other ways are safe. Like I said, one litttle peice
of goofery may not be the actual killing agent, but the mindset that allows
even that I do not want in the water with me. Convoluted solutions to bad gear
or other bad configurations are dangerous, obstructve, stressfull, clumsy,
indefficient, inappropriate, and inexcusable.
You are mistaking your long time ability to dive anything with what really
works and what does not. I am sure you could dive with Mike Nelson's wooden
doubles from "Sea Hunt", but that may not be the best thing to use.
Like I also said, I used to dive complete strokery, and did not stop me from
doing all of the wrecks out here before anyone else, but I am lucky to be here
talking about it. Did you ever see the video where Decostein's reg pulled off
completely and was blowing air, and he did not ever know it? It was on the
"Caicos Express" on air at 280 with Bill Mee filming. We all all just lucky -
we know better now, just like we know better about sqaure lights, buttmounting
,
hose stuffing, and other unsafe practices.
I don't ant to hear about where to stuff the hose, I want to hear how to do
it right. We don't care what you did yesterday, we all did stupid shit -let's
not defend it any further, let's go ahead and get it right. Do you need me to
send you a tape? I had to give one to Mark Long, but he ate the box and threw
away the tape. You look at yours first. -G
