I've been using the line reel as an up-line, I do not like the jersey reels-I
think  they are to big and bulky. However,you should not carry one line reel
for both purposes (a penetration reel and up-line reel). Carry two reels, one
for an up-line, the other for whatever purpose you need it for. On my up-line
reel I use 1/8 inch braided nylon and carry 300 feet of it. It's more than
strong enough for any lift bags you will send up to hang on.
