Just read through the infomercial in Aquacorp on the Force Fin. Nice historical rendering of fin development, but far off the mark in dealing with the claims that Force fins are the most efficient design. They are still pushing the old concept of all other fins using "stiff" material and Force fins as being more efficient. They seem to purposely ignore that good freediving fins like Cressi Rondine Garas, or AB Biller, or Esclapez fins are extremely flexible (not stiff at all) and deliver excellent thrust on both upstroke and downstroke, and must certainly do this with FAR MORE EFFICIENCY than could Force Fins. If anyone from Aquacorp is reading tech diver, we have a standing challenge: Because Force Fins are such a poor concept to us, Jim Abernethy and myself will comp a 3 day dive trip (hotel and boat) to ANYONE who can use Force Fins to keep up with Jim and myself on one of our normal spearfishing dives on the Playground, for at least 20 minutes. No One has accepted this challenge so far, probably because any Force fin owner is aware that the fins are very slow and inefficient compared to good freediving fins like Jim and I use. And this challenge has been made to tens of thousands of people. If they are so hot, why not get one of the Navy Seals to take a shot at showing us we are wrong---my guess is that even a Seal has NO CHANCE what-so-ever, of keeping up with that bad a handicap.
