Michael Tennant writes: Another consideration may be Beuchat. I know they have a 120's that only weight 40 pounds, and as doubles they would weigh about the same as OMS 98's. They are at 3500 psi, where the OMS are at 2640 psi. Now, as far as thread size is concerned, I'm sorry. I can't help you there. SNIP> FYI: In the UK we often use Faber cylinders. They are 15 litres water capacity (WC) and WP of 232 bar, 3365psi (=123 cuft). They are stamped as weighing 16.5kg (36lbs). Price about 150 UKP each. As far as I know, neck threads are 3/4BSP or M25. I don't know if they do 3/4 NPSM. Faber are now making 300 bar, 4352psi cylinders in 7, 10 and 12 litres WC. A 300 bar 12l cyl = 127 cuft. Going the other way in terms of WP, OMS are now marketing their 2640psi cylinders in the UK. They justify the lower WP/ larger WC as being better for neutral buoyancy throughout the dive. For weenie me, maximum air/weight ratio is paramount, and I use 2x10l, 232bar (164 cuft). Bill.Dyer@mi*.co*.uk*
