(I will not be too put out if my > theory is a load > of old cobblers but it would be good to hear from people > using this type of reg) Simon I use the tube style regs (Posiedon Odin and Oceanic Omega II) simply becuase I'm slightly inverted (or atleast try to be) inside wrecks as to not kick up the bottom. I chose this style of reg after I sucked in the St Lawrence on a wreck dive using a hockey puck style reg. The next time I anticipated it and sort of "sipped" the air through the water. Then I bought an Oceanic Omega II. However to the unsuspecting diver or OAD, this may be enough to cause a little bit of panic assuming that the OAD is expecting air and not water. About not being easy to buddy breath with because of it's strange design. Well, yes I can see that if it's different than what your buddy or any OAD is use to it may cause some confusion (which would definately be bad in that situation). However, on the other side, if the OAD is your buddy then he should be familiar with your gear and know what to look for in an OA situation. If the OAD is not your buddy and not familiar with the tube style regs, then that could turn real messy in a hurry.
