If you use regs like the Possiedon Odin or Oceanic Omega II there is no
upside down so it dosen't matter which position it is in your mouth., just
that it gets there.  I agree, with the other style regs (hockey pucks) it is
best to pass them off right side up.  I've seen several divers suck in a lung
full of water and try to bolt to the surface in fear of drowning.  This whole
thing may be alieviated with continued practice.  And, yes a longer hose
would help the situation.
