Tony,
I tried starting a discussion about solo diving several months back...it 
went absolutely nowhere.  I think the reasons for this are as follows.

     1. Evedently this subject has been argued/talked about on this 
        list many times before and is in the "ad nauseam" realm.
     2. Probably a good percentage of people on this list (including
        myself) solo dive, and have already made their own decisions.
     3. Some people do not want to go on record, for numerous good 
        reasons, about this subject.

So....don't be surprised if there is not much response.
