  Andy - I do my deep stops on helium - no choice to 
deliver the oxygen any other way at that depth. It is 
the oxyegn window, no the delivery gas. You are not 
picking up on that. Ths has been PROVEN in study after 
study.
   
   I start my deco stops at 240 for a 300 foot dive.
I use my bottom gas to do this. At 190 I go to air,
and so on. For super long, I stick a bottle of heliox
50/50 in to keep the bone accumulation down. Otherwise,
I go with the most efective oxygen delivery gas. 

    We are talking long bottom times here. The problem with
what you ahve been taught is that you are clearly afraid
that these deep stops are really bottom time, so you 
don't believe me. Believe this - I am alive and well and
unbent . - G
