I know the director of TDI >teaches it in about 135 to 140. Hi Steve... are you talking about me? I did not teach the extended range diving program yet. I believe more in my deep diving specialty to 130 feet (approved by the ACUC president) combined with the Advanced Nitrox program (to 140-150 feet). I think that Advanced Nitrox alone is not enough as there is not enough theory and progressive practice if you include decompression dives (I hate when divers do not understand in what they're getting into). My program adds 16 hours of theory on physics, physiology, decompression theory, risk management, gear rigging, emergency management, etc and four progressive dives. We could discuss that privately, I'm sure that you would like it (this is the missing part in the TDI program). I think you are also teaching Advanced Nitrox in the same depth range, aren't you? I don't see myself teaching Extended Range in the coming year but if I would do it I would probably go to 170 feet. But, Extended Range is a course that I don't push at all. I would rather push Trimix diving but there is nobody ready for that yet in my area anyway. >The point is, I like Gilliam personally but agree 100% with George, if you >have a desire to do it deep on air, you're on your own... Yes, and as it is written on one of my t-shirts that I got from a dear friend, "At 200 feet you have no friends". Have a nice day! Michel Therrien m.therrien@ne*.qc*.ca*
