>As we were taught in the cave course there are 5 main reasons >scuba divers (all divers) >Training - improper or inadequate training >Guidelines - failure to maintain a continuous line to the outside >Air - insufficient air or breaking of appropriate air guidelines (e.g. > rule of thirds) >Depth - and all the associated problems that goes along with that >Limits - personal limits like cold, etc... In my haste I made a mistake... Thanks to Ken for the correction... The "L" stands for *LIGHTS*... Always have at least one primary (25 watts or greater) and 2 backup lights (min. of 3 per diver). And, thanks to Ken also for the following additions... "The NACD recognizes a 6th item, 'solo' diving"... I'd rather admit a mistake and correct it quickly!!! Although admitedly you still should never go beyond your own personal comfort zone either!!! -Carl-
