As we were taught in the cave course there are 5 main reasons
scuba divers (all divers)
Training - improper or inadequate training
Guidelines - failure to maintain a continuous line to the outside
Air - insufficient air or breaking of appropriate air guidelines (e.g.
rule of thirds)
Depth - and all the associated problems that goes along with that
Limits - personal limits like cold, etc...
This was presented as an acronym, and a damn good one IMO
"Training Gives All Divers Life"
And, for certified cave divers it boils down to THREE main reasons
which present themselves in a different order than the above 5...
Depth
Guidelines
Air
Which translates in the acronym world to
"Do Good Always"...
