Clark's section on oxygen toxicity of "The Physiology and Medicine of Diving", 4th edition, edited by Peter Bennett and David Elliott contains a good discussion on the role of antioxidants in reducing the deleterious effects of increased oxygen tensions. There is a section (Termination of Active Radical Chain Reactions) which specifically discusses Vitamin E and C, with references. The main benefit of these sections is the many references to research. As far as PROVEN to be effective; that's a conclusion you will have to reach from the results. Hope this will help with more substantial evidence. Doug Chapman
