Of course, if you're talking hour long stops, you might be thinking of 
using dry gloves and keeping the thinner (more comfortable) seals on.

Definately, the "pro" or "HD" suits will outlast a 1/4" neoprene suit.  
But last I heard there were a few other types on the market.  Being that 
prevention is best, you might also consider DUI's CF200 or 
Typhoon's Pro model trilaminate, and leave the pool repair kit at home.
